The Dyson Perrins Chaplaincy project began in September 2015 where Katie Fisher began her role as Chaplain in Dyson Perrins Church of England Academy. The post was part of a 2 year project supported by local ecumenical churches, in addition to partnering with the Worcestershire diocese and organisations which include the YMCA. After the project was completed, we offered Katie a permanent position and she continues to offer pastoral support within the school, creating space and a forum to engage with and explore faith and Spirituality. Katie is a member of the Source Church and has been involved in Youth Work for over 18 years. She is involved with Churches together in Malvern and fosters close relationships with a number of Churches from various denominations to allow for a rich and broad understanding of Christianity.
Katie gained a BA Hons in Applied Theology and went on to do a PGCE in Religious Education for 11-18 year olds. She taught Religious Studies, Philosophy and Sociology A Levels for over seven years and has engaged in ad hoc lecturing at tertiary level looking at Theology in Children’s and Youth Work. She has been married to Les for 13 years and has 3 children who are aged 5,8 and 10.
