COVID Testing update

The guidance for our Covid testing in school has been updated.
The guidance for our Covid testing in school has been updated. Anyone testing positive using our lateral flow tests will no longer need to take a confirmatory PCR test at an external test site. They will need to self-isolate for 10 days and school will identify any close contacts. Staff are now being tested twice per week and we are planning to also include students on-site in the regular testing, rather than just testing on return to school. We do not yet know what is intended for testing students when school reopens for all students but will update parents when we have information.

Do not send your child to school if they or any member of your household has symptoms. If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), get a test as soon as possible. Stay at home until you get the result.
The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
If anyone in your household tests positive, the whole household must self-isolate https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus- covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/how-long-to-self-isolate/
